Paper & Promise
Privacy Policy
Your wedding stays yours. Last updated 13 August 2026 · draft for review.
The short version
Your wedding is private. We do not sell personal information, we do not show advertising on couples’ sites, and guest details are used only to run your celebrations. This policy explains the detail, consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
From couples: names, contact details, wedding details and wording, photographs and videos you upload, and payment records (payments themselves are processed by Lemon Squeezy — we never see or store card numbers).
Guest lists: if you use invitation emailing or RSVP services, you give us your guests’ names, email addresses and their replies (attendance, dietary needs, messages). This is personal information about people who are not our direct customers, and we treat it with particular care.
How we use it
Only to provide what you bought: building and hosting your site, sending the invitation emails you approve, collecting replies for you, and support. We do not use guest lists for marketing, do not add guests to any mailing list, and do not disclose them except to the service providers below or where the law requires.
Who helps us provide the service
Your data is handled by reputable providers under their own safeguards: our hosting provider (Netlify) serves the websites; Lemon Squeezy processes payments and licence keys; our email delivery provider sends invitation emails. Some providers store data outside Australia; we choose providers with appropriate protections.
How long we keep it
Hosted sites and their content are kept while your membership is active, then for the 60-day archive window after it ends, after which they are deleted from our systems. Guest lists supplied for a single mailing are deleted once the event has passed, unless you ask us to keep them for your next event. Purchase records are kept as required by Australian tax law.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to legal record-keeping). Guests may contact us directly with the same requests about their own details. If you have a privacy concern we cannot resolve, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
